Review

Quincy is the little brother of Tru from book one. Quincy is still working on his drug addiction but helping others at this point. We get the wonderful side characters of the Whiskeys and their love for their community. This one has some twist and turns with it! Roni is the dancer at his nieces dance studio that he has been trying to ask out for a while but waiting for his 2 year mark. They go on a super cute date which leads them down the road towards that HEA, but they have a lot of work in the middle and I’m sure after. 
This can be read as a standalone or like me I’m loving this series so much I will be working my way back through the series. Love the side characters, the kids, the love stories starting, the love stories we get more of and this one! We also get a bunch of steam in these!

A Little Country Christmas – Review

Overall these have the theme of small town. Some are more Christmas-y than the others. Novella can be hit or miss and a couple of these were miss for me as they were too short. 
The Perfect Christmas by Carolyn Brown is the last story in her Longhorn Ranch series but can be read as a standalone but might like the others before. This one worked for me and had her normal fast pace love story. Light on the steam.

Cowboy Christmas at Heart by A.J. Pine
This is also in a series but can really be read as a standalone- Meadow Valley. I enjoyed this one as well and had cute backstory of HS miss with a second chance. This had a bit of steam. Very cute meet cute and story line over the Holiday Parade! Favorite of the bunch. 

Home for the Holidays by Rochelle Alers
This one was small town but not a huge amount of Christmas and a lot to do with military and pasts. This was just okay – did have some closed door steam. This one didn’t really match with the others. 

Joy to the World by Hope Ramsay
Older love story romance- small town. Local doctor gets the music teacher to help with the Christmas pageant. Closed door steam.

All Scot and Bothered – Review

We are back with the Red Rogues and this time it’s Cecelia story. This one has a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, the leads backstory coming into play more and more. The big grumpy Scot is Ramsey who we meet in book 1 is the Duke’s big brother. He is now the Chief Justice but has absolutely no fun outside of work. This is a perfect enemies to lover romance along with the first age gap romance I have loved. Byrne is truly a master at wiring historical romance!
Cecelia is a lady with some curves, mathematician, will do anything for her friends, and know how to banter with some wit! Ramsey is the strong, large, smart, comes from commoners but can’t get a couple women out of his mind. 

Overall, 4.5 stars and 4 steam (not as much and much later- sloooow burn compared to book 1)

Review:

Cowles does it again with this series! Tears and LOL moments–powerful writing that will make this a one time setting book- as you can’t get enough! Crosby is the laid back lawyer that moved to the island to get away from his past and Kenna is back working like crazy to make herself proud. This has a bit of suspense which keeps the story going! We get some steam as well and that HEA! 

The setting of the Island is amazing with the characters and friendships over the series are powerful and add so much to the story line. It’s one of those you wish you could step into and be apart of places. Another, wonderful story and can’t wait for more of this series.

I leaned against the tree at the edge of the beach, taking in the show. The woman seemed to be one with the water. Smooth strokes cut through the inlet’s subtle waves. They were both graceful and powerful, restrained and explosive. A juxtaposition so similar to the woman herself.

Kenna made her way towards the rocky shore. Climbing to her feet, rivulets of water traced paths down curves that even her full-coverage, black Speedo couldn’t disguise. She wrung out her hair, and the long, dark sheet sprang up in unexpected curls. They reminded me of that part of Kenna she liked to hide away from the world.

Her movements faltered, and then she swiped her towel up from the beach. “What are you doing here?”

I grinned, pushing off the tree trunk and striding towards her. “Caelyn told me this was a good spot for paddleboarding.”

My face went hard as ice seemed to slide through my veins. Alicia’s gamble hadn’t paid off, and now she was trying to get her second choice back on the line. Not in this lifetime.

A cold hand grazed my forearm, yet somehow, the touch seemed to heat my skin. “Are you okay?”

I gave my head a little shake, plastering on my signature carefree smile. “Just those damn telemarketers. They never give up.”

Kenna’s hand fell away, and she took a step back. “You can just tell me to mind my own business. You don’t have to lie.”

I instantly felt the loss of her heat, the faint buzz on my skin where she’d touched me. “Fair enough.” Kenna kept her gaze locked to mine as if daring me to tell her the truth. I took the coward’s way out and changed the subject. “I like these.” I reached out and took a strand of her hair in my fingers, releasing it and letting the curl bounce.

Pink tinged her cheeks. “I prefer it straight.”

My grin grew wider. “I don’t know, Brown Eyes, I think you should let it run wild.” And what I would give to see this woman free and untamed.

Ties That Tether – Review

This book is powerful and wonderful and just perfect! Its hard to say much without giving it away but it is a truly amazing book as we get a view inside what its like for Azere a Nigerian women who emigrating to Canada when she was 12 to keep culture and heritage alive for herself and future generations like she promised her father. 

Igharo writes a story of Edo culture for the reader to get a understand and view into along with, ups and downs of what its like to be an immigrant in a new place like Canada and the pressure to keep your traditions alive but also be Canadian. The blends of the cultures in this book are powerful, with the two POV. You will be happy, sad, and cry with this one. The bond of friendships, families, tradition, home country, new country, and today’s world all come together for this one. This is a must read story or a JUST READ IT!

Christmas on Reindeer Road – Review

This book is stole by a 5 almost 6 year old Teddy who is so cute, funny, smart, did I say cute kid you just wish he was yours! I read this as a standalone which I hate to do but you really can. I didn’t know much aka went in blind and really enjoyed this story! It will get you in the holiday spirt and Teddy will lead the way! 

Loved the lead characters and the kids- even when they were being teenage boys! Perfect Christmas book!

Home for the Holidays – Review

Super cute movie style book with three sisters go out to see their aunt at her inn that they use to visit! Told in three POV with one that is a mom to some cute kids, getting over a divorce but almost truly running into the town doc. Rose who is about to get married and hating her soon to be mother-in-law. Mags who has had fertility issues. Love all the sister-ness and them finding themselves again. Super cute location!

The Summer Deal – Review

I finally got to this one and even though summer is truly done up north here it was a nice vacation read for me. Jill is becoming an auto buy for me and this book was sad- happy- tears but all good in the end sort of book. Three kids meet at summer camp for years but one keeps going later and doesn’t know why the other two don’t. We find out why but also the girls shared new hope.

Review:

We are back to Iowa with Cam and Whit this time around. We know Cam as the grump all fight lawyer for the team and Whit is the one of the family that stayed behind to help run the company. We also get more back story of this second chance romance of these two high school sweethearts that have been away for ten years. This book will make you wish you had a Cam in your kitchen and side! We also get a super cute grandma and little brother duo that play video games. 

This series is just so cute, fun, easy, steamy and full of that HEA! On top an amazing group of friends that keeps growing. I can’t wait for more of this series! 

Overall, 4 stars and 3.5 steam (less steam than some of the earlier ones)

He leaned in, close enough that she could feel his breath on her lips when he said, “Let me kiss you.”

Oh damn. She wanted that. She wanted it so much. She was weak.

“I—” she started.

“The tea is getting cold!” Didi bellowed from the kitchen.

Whitney and Cam stilled. Then she felt him sigh. But he didn’t pull back. “You going to let me do this or not?”

He was already practically kissing her. When his lips moved as he spoke, they brushed hers ever so lightly. His body heat surrounded her. She swore she could feel his heartbeat pounding. Or maybe that was hers.

They both clearly wanted this. She certainly wasn’t pushing him away or stepping back. But the only actual connection was his hand on her face. And their mingling breaths.

Clearly he was going to insist that she make this decision. He wasn’t going to just sweep her up and kiss the hell out of her before she could protest and then let the chemistry take over.

“Whit,” he said, his voice low and rough. “Push me back or pull me closer.”

She slid her hands up to his chest, not sure until the last moment if she was going to fist his shirt and pull him in or push him away.

Cam, however, didn’t look surprised when she pushed.

He let go and stepped back though. He didn’t seem angry or even frustrated. It seemed that he’d been expecting her reaction actually.

“Okay,” he finally said.

She wet her lips. “Thanks,” she said, hoarsely. And she meant it. She appreciated that he was giving her these choices. Kind of.

It would be a lot easier to just climb him like a tree and give in to everything zipping between them if he’d just back her up against the wall, seal his mouth over hers, and start running his big hands over her body. Then she could pretend she was just caught up in the moment and enjoy the hell out of it without actually admitting she wanted any of that.

Which he knew.

She could see it.

He knew that she wanted him, but that she didn’t want to admit it.

So, of course, he was going to make her confess before he did anything more.

“In case you’ve forgotten, I’m very stubborn,” he said.

Whitney gave him a nod. “I remember.”

“And something you should know about me and the past ten years,” he said, holding her gaze steadily, “I’ve also gotten very used to winning. “

That actually made her heart trip and her inner muscles clench.

See, she should really feel trepidation at that implied promise from him. But she didn’t.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” she said, trying desperately not to act excited about the idea of him trying again and again to get close to her.

He looked at her for a long moment and a thought flickered through her mind—he knows.
